2ND STOP SHOP

Introduction

2nd Stop was set up by SPARK (SPort and Recreation in Kesgrave) and the 1st Kesgrave Scout Group in the summer of 1999 in one of the Kesgrave Tesco shop units. It benefits each charities fund raising by selling quality second-hand goods at reasonable prices. Setting up the shop was helped by the manager of Tesco at Martlesham offering the shop unit rent free so that more money could be made for both organisations. There is a dedicated team in the background who run the shop and take the goods from the people of Kesgrave, price them and put them in the shop ready to be sold. There is also a sales team that sells the goods. Everybody who works in the shop or behind-the-scenes does this free of charge out of the kindness of their hearts.

SPARK is in the process of amalgamating with the Kesgrave War Memorial Community Centre to create a new Kesgrave Community Association that will run the community centre, Millennium Sports Ground etc. At the point of creation of this new association the 1st Kesgrave Scout Group will relinquish it’s interest in the 2nd Stop Shop. This is anticipated to happen around Sept 2008.

Shop Donations

If you have any thing you would like to donate please deliver to the 2nd Stop during opening hours. The shop accepts clothes, books, toys, crockery, ornaments, and small items of furniture etc but does not sell electrical goods, audio tapes, CDs, DVDs or videos.  If you have any questions or queries regarding the shop or donations please contact the manager.
