Maps - Converting Google Map location (GPS) to OS Co-ordinates
Go to Google Maps, select satellite view, find the area you are interested in and put your mouse arrow over the piece of land you are interested in, right click the mouse, and select 'what's here's. This should place the GPS co-ordinates in the box under the search box as a location.
For example for this location (click to show):
this placed the following (or near to it) GPS co-ordinates in the 'location' box.
Copy the above GPS co-ordinates (lat and long) into the respective WGS84 Lat/Lon boxes (as this is what GPS uses).
The OS Grid Ref should now be shown and for the piece of land I highlighted above it should show: TM 2299 4549
This site also provide other useful conversions and calculations.
